A Heartfelt Thank You

As our customer appreciation celebration comes to a close, we wanted to share with you this little but heartfelt message.

Thank you for your support

Over this past year, we have done our very best to keep our customers and staff safe. It has been a rollercoaster of everchanging rules and regulations both behind the scenes for our production teams and in the forefront affecting our front of house retail staff and you, the customer.

We won’t lie, it was stressful, but our goal was to ensure food security and a safe environment for our staff and customers alike.

…and what was the number one thing that kept us going through all this?

YOU

As we navigated these uncharted waters, you supported us and encouraged us. You shared with us your patiencecompassion and kind words. We received hand-drawn pictures and thank you cards, and at every turn, we saw the positive impact we were making as we strived our best to serve our community.

Service Update

Dec 13 , 2020

Service Update

Service Update - December 13th, 2020

As a food retailer within Norfolk County, we take your safety and our staff's safety very seriously. Our goal is to provide ongoing service and maintain food security in our area, and you can help us do that.

Starting Monday, December 14th, we ask that out-of-county customers use our Curbside Service option. You can email your order to Orders@townsendbutchers.ca, place your order through our online store at www.townsendbutchers.ca or place your order by phone. Then drive to our location at the identified day and time and give us a call from your vehicle using your cell phone (519-426-6750) or check in with our outdoor staff member and we will bring your order out to your vehicle for a zero contact experience.

All Norfolk and Haldimand County customers are welcome to continue to shop in-store, online and use curbside service at any time. Per our current in-store policy,  if you have been exposed to someone who has Covid-19, have a fever or are feeling unwell, we do ask you to use our Drive-in service. If you have been directed to self-isolate or quarantine, please respect medical procedures and remain home.

It is important to note that at no time will we refuse service to any individual. As a community conscience food retailer, we believe that no wanting customers will be told they cannot access our food products. Proper nourishment is important to help keep ourselves healthy.

We all play a role in our community's safety, and by implementing this new measure and helping mitigate contact where possible, we are doing one small part to keep everyone safe and healthy.

We appreciate your help and understanding as we move forward in our efforts to serve you safely.

Thanksgiving Done Differently

Thanksgiving Done Differently

A 2020 Thanksgiving

Thoughts and Inspirations

Thoughts:

We have been thinking about how the recent tightening on private social restrictions are affecting our community and our friends and our own family. We understand there is a lot of frustration, disappointment and, in some cases, anger. We also understand that safety needs to be a priority.

Don't lose hope, it's true the physical traditions may be somewhat different, but the ideals and sentiments of this holiday are more important than ever. Here at Townsend Butchers are thankful.

Inspiration:

It is true a 10 person thanksgiving for some family's is too small, but let's look at changing some details and entertaining some new ideas that will help you follow the restriction, practice safe distancing and enjoy your Thanksgiving

1.     Plan an outdoor gathering.

With some extra tables and chairs set apart, you can have up to 25.

a)     Try serving during the afternoon when the day is the warmest.

b)    Serve non-traditional dishes that are easy to eat. Turkey dinner on a bun or Yorkshire pudding turkey pyramids. Mmm.

c)     Try a BBQ thanksgiving rotisserie-style - we know some followers out there may have some good tips on how to rotisserie a bird!

d)    Rent a tent to ensure your festivities go smoothly. Rain or shine your set.

2.     Have video dinner at 2 or 3 locations (10 at each) have a competition to see who's household had the best-looking desert.

3.     Plan something completely different

a)     Take the afternoon to go apple picking as a family and pack some turkey sandwiches for a picnic!

When it boils down, the important part of this holiday is to let your family know you love them and are thankful for their ... everything.

We will be posting more details on these Thanksgiving Done Differently ideas on our Facebook page leading up to the big days itself.

From all of us at Townsend Butchers – have a safe and happy Thanksgiving.

Moving forward together COVID-19 Safety

Jul 27 , 2020

Moving forward together COVID-19 Safety
It has been a roller coaster ride over the last few months and we would like to first and foremost thank all of our customers for your patience, compassion, and support thus far.
As the world has changed around us we have done our very best to keep you and our staff safe and healthy, while also being able to provide food security in the meat industry. We stand proud with our fellow butchers across the country in providing you quality meats to feed your family and loved ones during this difficult time.
Throughout this situation we have made many adjustments to our shopping experience. At one point we even took a small step backwards when we felt it was warranted so that we would be able to again move forward together towards a safe shopping experience. Every decision during this time has been made to ensure 2 objectives.
     1. Food security for Norfolk County and surrounding areas
     2. The safety and well being of our staff and customers.
Now we are taking another step forward. With the opening up of our region to the stage 3 level and with it increased numbers of gatherings permitted, our municipality has voted to make face masks in enclosed spaces mandatory as of August 3rd.
Here at Townsend Butchers, we have decided to implemented our face mask policy effective immediately. This means that all customers whom wish to enter the building are required to wear a mask that covers their nose and mouth.
If you are unable to wear a mask for any reason we will be happy to assist you through our curbside service. You may call ahead to place your order for pick up or shop online anytime.
If you have any questions about our in-store policies please contact info@townsendbutchers.com
Stay safe, stay healthy
